Confidential, short-term, goal-directed individual counseling is provided to any student currently enrolled at Truman State University. Individual counseling is generally focused on the individual’s immediate or near-future concerns. It is a one-on-one process between the trained therapist and the client in a safe, caring, and confidential environment that allows the client to explore their feelings, beliefs, or behaviors, work through challenging or influential memories, identify aspects of their lives that they would like to change, better understand themselves and others, set personal goals, and work toward desired change. Most students in individual counseling will pay $10/session. Students with an approved waiver on file will not pay a fee.
