- To educate Truman Students about their role in preventing sexual assault.
- To promote positive, nonviolent models of male strength.
- To empower men to take action to end dating violence, promote healthy relationships based on equality and respect, and create a safer Truman community.

In 750 words or less please explain why you are a true man of strength and what you do to help stop violence in relationships and sexual assault. Please type on an attached sheet. Applications are due to University Counseling Services by 5:00 p.m. March 1st with completed essay and petition form.

Applications are due to University Counseling Services by 5:00 p.m., Friday, February 29, 2008 with completed essay, petition form and $5.00 application fee. Members of STEP and their advisor will select up to four finalists. Three independent judges will determine the winner from the finalists. Finalists will be announced shortly after the application deadline. Finalists will be asked to read their essay at an awards reception at a time and location to be announced. At that time, the 2008 True Man of Strength award winner will be announced. Excerpts from essays and photos of the finalists will be used in a campus-based awareness campaign.
