Message From the Director

Welcome to the new University Counseling Services website.

I came to Truman in 2004 and one of the main things I wanted to do was make the website for my office more usable and to be one of the best college counseling center websites. I had hoped to get this change made in my first six months. Well, that did not happen. The demand for our services went up almost 25% in the last two years and my focus was on helping those who walked through our door. This last summer, I noticed the use of our on-line screening tests for depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and alcohol all went up anywhere from 150% to 400%.

These numbers got my attention back on the website, now knowing that even a very poorly designed and outdated website is still used frequently by our Truman community. I hope that this very well designed and updated site is well received. I will warn yopu that this site is not complete but you will be able to see the vision of what I hope it will be. Enjoy!!
